An ancient cultivar widely grown throughout India, Jasminum sambac ‘Belle of India’ is a stunning variety celebrated for its exquisite double flowers and intense fragrance. Its unique blooms feature concentric layers of petals that resemble the tiered roofs of Oriental temples, creating a truly ornate and exotic appearance. Like many sambac varieties, it has a naturally informal and somewhat rambling habit; however, with careful guidance, it can be easily trained onto a trellis or support. A fascinating characteristic of this plant is that its outer petals may take on a delicate pink hue when exposed to cooler temperatures or environmental stress.
