Native to China, Jasminum mesnyi is also widely known as “primulinum” due to its early blooming habit, marking the transition from winter to spring. This vigorous, large shrub produces exceptionally large, semi-double yellow flowers that provide a vibrant splash of colour when few other plants are in bloom. It features a naturally sprawling or weeping habit, making it ideal for cascading over walls or banks; however, it can also be trained as a vine if given support. Remarkably hardy, it can withstand temperatures as low as -20 °C and thrives in a sunny position.
