An ancient Indian cultivar that has been cherished in Southern Europe since the 19th century, Jasminum sambac ‘Maid of Orleans’ is often considered the most fragrant of all jasmines. This famous variety produces an abundant display of medium-sized, single flowers with rounded, waxy petals. On occasion, the outer edges of the blooms may develop a delicate pink tint. Unlike other varieties, it features broad, rounded leaves in a soft light green. With its naturally contained growth, it offers great versatility: it can be trained onto a trellis or support as a climber, or left to develop its characteristic scandent shrub shape. Known for its prolific blooming from June through to October, it fills the air with an exceptionally sweet and potent aroma, making it a timeless favourite for any scented garden.
